Meet our Permanent Residents!

Meet Georgie! Georgie is a sweet cat who likes attention from people. She was abandoned at a vet clinic and came to our rescue in 2011 at the age of 13. She always greets us with her special little squinty-eyed smile, watching through the window for us to come in to open up the nest. When she turned 16 years old, we decided that she would stay here at the rescue as our resident cat. She is quite happy here with the run of the rescue. She hangs out on the front desk with us and “helps” us with our paperwork and typing. We all love our little Georgie!

Meet Rusty! In May of 2019, Rusty had surgery to remove his spleen. Unfortunately it turned out to be cancerous. While there was no visible metastasis, It is likely that it has spread and his life expectancy is probably less than a year. He is still happy and perky and we plan to keep him that way for as long as we can! He will stay with us, and his foster mom, for the rest of his life. Rusty is an 11 year old male beaglier, beagle-King Charles Cavalier mix. He was born 2/10/07. He is Black and Tan and weighs 20 lbs. He was surrendered to us on 5/29/18 due to no fault of his own. He loves playing with his toys and playing fetch! He is cat, dog, and kid friendly. Rusty is crate trained, house trained, and overall very well mannered. Rusty is very independent! He is happy by your side but is also content playing with his toys in another room. When Rusty does want some extra attention, he prefers to be one on one with his human. This cute little guy likes to look out the window behind his foster mom’s couch while he waits for the mail carrier. Another one of Rusty’s hobbies is making sure every single toy comes out of the toy basket so he can play with them. Rusty is calm and laid back most of the time but also likes to race the neighbor dogs along the fence
